
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A semi-truck carrying nuts was damaged after it caught fire early Tuesday morning, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.
Just before 3 a.m., crews responded to a vehicle fire on southbound Interstate 5 near the Southwest Capitol Highway exit. PF&R says a semi-truck caught fire and extended into the trailer that was carrying packages of almonds and cashew nuts.
Crews used a saw to gain access to the trailer and quickly put out the fire.
Southbound lanes of I-5 were blocked while firefighters were on scene.

By 6:30 a.m., PF&R crews had left the scene and ODOT crews remained for the incident investigation.
