Machaze district, in the province of Manica, expects to sell more than 4,000 tons of cashew nuts this year.
If this goal is reached, it will represent an increase of 50% on the amount achieved last year.
District administrator Joana Guinda said that the marketing campaign for cashews was going well.
Radio Mozambique interviewed buyer Herlod Carlos, who confirmed that the number of sellers had increased this season.
As for cashew cultivation, Machaze district has already planted 65,600 cashew tree seedlings out of a planned total of 100,000.
